Former Mashable COO Will Aid Edelman Digital in Identifying New Potential Opportunities for Clients and Firm
August 2, 2012, NEW YORK, NY: Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm, announced today that Adam Hirsch will join Edelman Digital as senior vice president of Emerging Media and Technology, effective August 6th. In the newly created position, Hirsch will help operationalize new partnership opportunities, platforms and technologies on behalf of Edelman Digital’s clients throughout the world. He will report to Kevin King, global practice chair, Digital.
“Edelman Digital has been at the forefront of thought leadership and the launch of innovative programs on behalf of our clients in the social digital space. So much of what we do has never been tried before, or at the least there’s no established playbook,” said King. “Adam will help us to operationalize new thinking and further evolve our thought leadership into actionable programs, which will bring tremendous value to our clients.”
Hirsch will also use his depth of experience to help educate the Edelman Digital staff and clients around the world on emerging industry trends and technologies. Taking that education a step further, Adam will leverage his background in operations to identify ways to integrate new trends into client programs.
“I am very excited to be working with the Edelman Digital team to identify new opportunities for existing global clients, streamline internal best practices, and bring a new perspective to new business efforts,” said Hirsch.
Hirsch most recently served as chief digital officer for DoSomething.org. He is currently an advisor to Mashable. From 2007 to early 2012, he was Mashable’s chief operating officer and played a critical role in the development of Mashable from a small blog into a well-regarded media company. While at Mashable, he oversaw business growth, including marketing, partnerships, advertising and events. Hirsch also helped drive key initiatives such as the Social Good Summit, the Open Web Awards (now known as the Mashable Awards) and Mashable Follow.
