Clare Gleghorn, a former senior communications adviser to the Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development, has joined the growing team at Edelman Melbourne as an Associate Director.
Prior to joining Edelman, Ms Gleghorn managed communications and stakeholder engagement for the Regional Rail Link project. Her experience extends to energy, major construction, the tertiary education sector and across government in justice, sport and recreation, women and youth affairs and urban planning.
“In the rapidly changing political and economic climate in Australia and overseas, effective communications is about building a meaningful and lasting conversation with your stakeholders,” said Ms Gleghorn.
“Joining Edelman provides me with a great opportunity to help our local public and private sector clients lead and participate in the conversations they want to have.”
Grant Smith, General Manager of Edelman Melbourne, said Ms Gleghorn’s skills in navigating the Australian political landscape will strengthen the link between Edelman’s global IP and the service provided to new and existing local clients.
“Companies we speak to are challenged by the uncertainty of Australia’s current political landscape, and that has serious implications for both local and international businesses. Public relations has a critical role to play in building and maintaining relationships between business and all levels of government, and that need is particularly strong in Australia right now.
“Clare’s experience, both in the public sector and in-house with multinationals in Australia and the UK, will be an invaluable addition to our client service commitment,” said Mr Smith.
