Edelman Melbourne wins The Network Group account

The Network Group, the nation’s most energetic DVD rental business and brainchild of Small Business advocate, Keran Wicks, has appointed Edelman Melbourne as its public relations partner after a competitive pitch.

The brief will see Edelman working closely with The Network Group team to drive home the message that not only is DVD rental a thriving business in the current economy, it also has a strong future ahead of it.

“We were attracted to the enthusiasm of the Edelman team throughout the pitch process,” said Ms Wicks, The Network Group Managing Director.

“The team clearly understood where we want The Network Group name to be positioned and the energy they brought to the room gave us the sense that they share our passion for local business success.”

Edelman Melbourne General Manager, Grant Smith, said the appointment was a sign of Edelman’s growing presence in the Melbourne market.

“Edelman has a great heritage in Melbourne and the past 12 months has seen the business grow to a whole new level,” said Mr Smith.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work closely with a dynamic, national business that bucks the trend of its competitors and proves that with the right business model, economic uncertainty presents as many opportunities as challenges.”

Keran Wicks, MD at The Network Group added: “There are multiple similarities between our business and Edelman’s, such as the independence of being privately owned and therefore flexible enough to move with changes in customer demand and economic pressures.

We’re pleased to be working with the firm to better engage with consumers and key stakeholders from the business, government and media communities to build on our strong growth.”
