Edelman Australia has further expanded Digital PR services, adding another strategist to the company’s national footprint.
Account Director, Alex Lefley, will join Edelman’s Melbourne office on 22 August, charged with providing on-the-ground digital strategy to a range of clients in the fast-growing Melbourne market.
A native of London’s Digital Marketing community and automotive aficionado, Lefley brings extensive experience across food and beverage, healthcare and consumer technology brands. In his previous role at the UK digital PR specialist, Shiny Red, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of award-winning campaigns for Pfizer (Sabre and Communiqué) and Cobra Beer (Reputation Online), as well as management of social media campaigns for Coors Light, Grolsch, Cadbury and American Express.
Edelman Australia Head of Digital, Matthew Gain, welcomed Lefley’s arrival, saying: “This hire is in response to the increasing requirement for specialised digital strategy in our everyday work from clients.”
“Whilst digital is a core capability of all our staff, Alex’s heritage and experience allows us to immediately elevate our digital and social media offering in Melbourne.
“Alex joins a fast growing team across both offices of dedicated digital and social media specialists,” said Gain.
Edelman Melbourne General Manager, Grant Smith, said Lefley added a depth of consulting experience that would perfectly complement the strong offer Edelman Melbourne is known for.
“Our growth in Melbourne over the past year has been driven by delivering outstanding results for our clients, regardless of brand or brief,” said Smith.
“Alex’s arrival amplifies the diversification of our capability by adding a full service digital offering to provide our clients with a deeper level of expertise to draw from.”
“This is a service business and adding a dedicated digital function to our Melbourne team will provide our clients with another level of expertise to draw from.
“We are incredibly excited Alex is joining us next week – this has been a long time in the making and our first priority on his arrival is embedding him into the culture and fabric of the city.
“Melbourne is truly a relationship city, and Alex’s arrival is a perfect next step for Edelman to embrace the ever-increasing socialisation of public relations. Doubtless he’ll be rolling up at Social Media Melbourne breakfasts before the month is out.”
